“Matt Calderin is an American drummer, singer-songwriter, and music educator born and raised in Hollywood, FL. Matt began playing drums at age five. He performed his first gig at the age of thirteen and continued to gig with various bands throughout his teens. He received his Bachelors degree in studio music and jazz from the University of Miami in 1995. Since then, Matt has shared the stage with the Beach Boys, Scott Stapp, Mya, The Drifters, Mel Carter, Dion, William Shatner, and many more. Matt has also recorded with various producers and artists such as Tom Dowd, Scott Storch, G-Love, Gladys Knight, George Noriega, and Vivian Green. Last year, Matt recorded for Sony Records and played on two Grammy-Award nominated records. Matt has been an active music educator for the past twenty years, and is sponsored by both the Vic Firth Stick and Sabian Cymbal corporations. He is currently the Director of Jazz Bands at Stoneman Douglas High School”
